Post & Ghost
I did it! & I didn’t even know it existed, don’t remember, can’t recall… that I have a Medium account called ‘Staying Relevant’, and that I have posted an article there too.
What is post & ghost phenomena? When you post something (on social media) and maybe promise to post regularly but never do. Like I did last year! I posted my first story on Medium (18 months ago) and planned to post stories regularly but never did. It’s may be because of lack of earning opportunity through the medium for Indian writers.
Obviously priority for writing on Medium goes down in my pile of todos. Also, I don’t have a ghost-writer, who’d write for the topics I choose, nor I would take weekly time out for writing. Is this going to change today? Now that I discovered about my Medium account and the promise I made 18 months ago? Probably not, I dont want to give false promises for posting every week. Instead I can better use this place. By moving my “twitter activity” over here.
Lately, I feel disconnected on Twitter & it recommends quite weird tweets to me which doesn’t match my interest.
So pretty much goodbye twitter and hello Medium. That’s my TL;DR & I believe, all Medium stories should have a TL;DR (too long; didn’t read) at the beginning of the post.
Medium is way different than Twitter and has many cool features, especially for curating and sharing wonderful articles/webpages with others. Few months back I almost decided to start newsletter cum blogpost, & I am glad that I already have this place reserved, which I can leverage for content sharing and curation and freestyle writing. For instance, my ‘Sunday Reads’ recommendation, can of course go here. In my mind, I can already see few stories/post for Staying Relevant and I am looking forward to be more active on Medium. For monetisation & lack of earning opportunities, will figure out something about it soon.
