Staying Relevant

I was hesitant to start using Medium.com for writing. I am not sure what type of content community expects on this blogging platform. Medium calls them ‘stories’ rather than posts or blogposts (terms used by Wordpress and Blogger respectively). I safely assume your blog (web-log, daily/routine journal) qualifies as a story. What can you do with such platform? Although you’d find all sorts of prose & poetry here.

Clear Road Ahead: Beginning of a journey!

Marketers/corporates spam such UGC platforms (Quora another example) as they find it SEO friendly and attracts Google search’s attention easily, even if community may not want it. What is intended by the platform falls under 3 categories:

  1. blogs (periodic articles, stories, fiction, poetry etc.),
  2. newsletter (good for curation & updates serving directly to mailbox), &
  3. publication (content with common theme by team of writers).

This is just a pilot ‘story’, the first article to test the publishing platform of medium & I am not going to expand the above paragraph into UGC platform analysis, its intention & community expectations etc.
I’m just going to do श्रीगणेशा of my blogging journey here at Medium. I’ll be posting my life-updates (of course!) journey, work-life routine stories of staying relevant in the business, struggles & breakthroughs, thoughts, insights on topics I care. And what title comes in my mind for this blog? Well, you already know now!
